Thanks Len you did well.

Its not as tidy a street as I remembered. In fact it looks a little run down.

We bought it from an Indian doctor who was going back to India to fight in Kasmir against the Pakistanis. I remember the neighbours being pleased that a white family was buying the house as they were worried that the doctor might have been the standard bearer for an asian invasion. Im glad my father is hear anymore to see the house and the street for that matter , it was a pretty little street with all the houses well kept.

Queens park , that brings back memories especially the shelter by the lake lol. I was pretty in summer though.

Thanks again Len you went to a bit of bother which I appreciate.

No worries Roy, it was an interesting afternoon out for us and we didn?t have to go far out of our way. I?m kinda hoping that one day others will do the same for me. At the end of the day it didn?t cost anything and I think for some one like yourself it must be good for you to be able to see what things are like today after all these year, 40 years in fact.

I think what makes a lot of the streets in the UK look untidy is the shear amount of cars being parked up outside people?s houses. What you see in these photos is pretty typical of most streets these days in the UK even my street here in Gt Harwood.

In the summer we shall return to Ripon St and Queens Park and get some better photos because on this day it was very gloomy/ dark and it does make things look a little miserable.

The photos that I have uploaded to the forums had to be resized so that they can fit onto the pages. So Roy if there are any of the photos above that you would like to look at in more detail then just let me know and I will e-mail you a much larger sized image.

hehe, No problem mate.
I shall send them to you one at a time because they will be quite large files and they may take some time for them to upload.

I shall send one and see how it goes.
Good luck.
