Hi
My name is John Kelly and I lived at Bunnerong hostel from 1955 to 1960 after that we returned to the UK but I was lucky enough to return here in 1982. My mother Ida Kelly worked in the canteen at the hostel and my father Jack was a bricklayer building many local homes. I have many fond memories of the hostel and my time atMatraville public school. Be happy to exchange memories with anyone who is interested.
Regards
John Kelly

I was 9 years old in 1959, my brother also went to the school and would have been 7.Closer to your sons age. I have several school photos of me and my brother from our years at Matraville school which I would be happy to share with anyone who is interested. It's interesting to see that this school is allmost unchanged from when I left in 1960. I remember the opening of the new school hall which happened while I was there and a play that my class performed. Seems like yesterday.
Regards
John

Hi John,
I think both you and your brother would have been ahead of Murray.
Interesting the school hadn't changed from when you were there.
