Yeah, where is/was snake island ?Regards Danny McK. Confused Confused Confused Talking of car bonnets, myself and a mate from the hostel used to go to a place which was nearDerrimut road and Gerard Springs Facory, which was on the corner of the Geelong Road and Derrimut Road, Now across the road from that intersection was a mountain of blue metal rocks, you know the rocks that are layed down before railway sleepers are put in place. There we found an old car bonnet so we dragged that bonnet to the top and then tilted it, jumped in, and away we went. That was great fun. By the way the mate used to dink me on his bike to get there, geez, looking back now, that*s quite a distance from the hostel, but I must admit there was*nt as much traffic on the roads at that time. ( there I go again waffeling on). Regards D.McK.

Me again, does anyone remember when walking to the back beach from the hostel, just passed the palm tree which, by the way is still there, passing a big concrete water tank which was sunk into the ground, it had a ladder of steel rungs leading down into the mucky bottom, there you*d find a couple of car bonnets half submerged. I always wanted to see how deep the water was but was a tad apprehesive. The swallows (birds) used to build their nests against the sides of the tank. I always wondered how the nests stayed put and did*nt fall off. I know now. Regards DMcK. Smile Smile Smile

Don't remember the big water tank. Being a girl, I probably wasn't very intersted in such things, so it didn't stay in my memory.
