For those of you who are not aware of it there is a site showing recent aerial photography of most Capital cities in Australia and some other developed areas.

The areas covered is growing slowly, but it has very clear photo imagery at: http://www.nearmap.com/
Below is an example of the clarity, (it is in fact better, and you can zoom in a lot closer) showing the area of the old Smithfield Hostel in SA as it is today. Most of it covered by a Rail interchange car park



You will be asked to register, but it is free for home use.
