New to this very interesting forum. My family migrated from the UK in 1961, we spent a couple of years at the Brooklyn hostels,Altona, Kingsvillle? We stayed for 1 year and ended up going back, due to lack of money. I was 15 months old at the time, older brother and sister. Family name McCrorie, Mum from Midlands, Dad from Scotland. I am currently researching what I can on ours and other families experiences in the migrant hostels. I still have vivid memories and some great photos that Mum has given me for the book. Would love to hear from anyone who may have known my family or have pics they would like to share. _________________ Hi |
