I found this forum because, at the DACC board meeting I suggested that we (the board/committee) should support reunion(s) of Dutch-Australians who spent time in hostels. ( I saw that expression, on an official website and I reckon it makes it seem like a gaol-sentence!!!!).
I believe that we (the DACC) should support such (an) event(s) and if it concerned the Illawarra area, for example, we should ask DASI (Dutch Australian Society in Illawarra) and the Dutch radio program there, for help!
Or Concordia, in Newcastle, etc..

Hi Jo,
Please if you come across some Dutch people called Dorsmans please give them my very best regards. They came to Australia in 1957 ,to Cabramatta Hostel and the children used to come to our place often. They were nice kids and I often wonder where they are now. You may come across them as you are hoping for a reunion. There were four boys and a girl

Icame to Willawood hostel in 1968 and met there a Dutchman by the name of Bert Huizinga. We both went to Bougainville to work for CRA. Bert left before me and we lost track of each other.
