I just want to express amazement that the "Memoirs" thread has attracted such interest. It is something I never expected. I don't know who is reading the instalments, but obviously the topic is spreading to an audience far beyond the members of this forum. I'm thrilled that it is evoking nostalgia for other migrants who can be reminded of long-forgotten trivia in their lives, and maybe it is giving an inkling to others,
of what life was like for their parents or grandparents. Anyway, I'm planning to publish it as an e-book or paperback at some point, and have already started networking to this end, and chosen a title. But there is still so much more to add. The final chapters will be about returning to the "Homeland" many years later for the first time.
Again, my thanks to all readers, wherever you are.

Thank you for compelling and entertaining stories, have read them all and always read your ongoing instalments. What truly amazes me is your clarity of memory for the smallest details ie. Names, dates, faces, quirks, smells etc. I pride myself on having a good memory for the past and have to confess this website and its contributors have honed my memory processes. But nothing approaching your sharp recollection.
