Hi and thanks to all the contributors wishing a Merry Christmas. A very quiet time for myself and family living in Darwin since leaving Hostels around 1961 from 1954. Some years later we experienced Cyclone Tracy 1974 that tore Darwin and many Families apart. Through this forum, over the past 2 years I have been able to locate and stay in touch with friends from 2 Hostels (Heathcote and Cabramatta) mid 50's.
So, to one and all a Happy, Safe and Prosperous searching for lost friends in the New Year 2013. Three on top of my New Year list, Pat (Patricia) Kelly and Lucy Reid from Heathcote and Irene Cross from East Hills.

1954, Cabramatta Hostel from England aboard S.S.Strathaird, followed by Matraville, Marybrinong, Broadmeadows, Williamstown, Heathcote Road and Bunnerong (various moves as dad was later in '54 engaged as a Hostel Manager. |
