[Alan 1967-69]

I have just come across your forum and it has helped to jog my memory of my time at Bradfield Park, thank you. I wanted to share my memories of my time there and would be grateful if anyone can add to them.

I arrived in August of 1967 and stayed until 1969, I was 15 at the time and travelled across with my parents Jim and Alice. I started work as an apprentice joiner, going on to work for the water board. I passed my driving test and bought my first car, a Hillman Singer Gazelle!

I first recall meeting a youth hostel leader who arranged for me to have trials for a football team (possibly through a scout called Laurie ?).

I went on to play for South Sydney Croatia Football Club and represented NSW in a tournament in Melbourne. Whilst playing for both teams I met another lad from the campsite called Keith (from the Slough area). On the campsite I also recall a canteen staff members husband running an amateur football team in Woy Woy, who we also represented.

I also remember swimming in the river at Lane Cove.

Since returning to the UK I have always wanted to return to Australia with my family but haven't had the opportunity until now. I will be visiting Sydney at the end of January and am looking forward to reminiscing.

Hi Alan, I was there between 66 and 68 we are the same age my name is Dave Wright (Doozie),
