Hi everyone,
About two years ago I posted something to the affect that I was in the process of writing a novel. Well, and you'd never really believe it, especially those that knew me on Cabramatta Hostel - '63 to '65, I actually finished it, and have managed to get the thing published. It's mad.
The novel tells the story through the eyes of a sixteen year old lad from a working class family in the UK going through the process of migrating to Australia as 'Ten Pound Poms', as we were referred to. And then living on Cabramatta Hostel for two years, attending Cabramatta High School, getting a series of pretty rubbish jobs, but actually being perfectly happy on the hostel until his parents took him and his sister back to the UK.
Like there's more to it, but that's the main theme of the thing. It's been published in the UK, but they tell me it will soon be available in Australia. If anyone might be interested in having a read, let me know and I'll forward details how to get hold of it. It's available as a paperback, and as an e Book.
Just thought I'd post this and let the forum know, hope you don't mind.
All the best.
