Whew !! Thankgoodness back to normal. Don't you miss the things you want to do on this machine. Anyway sorted it myself with the help of AVG help line. Very Happy

Nice one Phyl, glad you sorted it. Pc�s are not fun when your having problems with them. I use avg anti-virus and also zone alarm for my firewall and the only reason I choice those was because they came highly recommended. From time to time I also run Windows Live Onecare. As It�s a free virus scanner and sometimes it finds and fixes things that others don�t.

Thanks for the info Len Might have a peek at that. I also use AVG now ,first time , as I have used others and was happy with them,but like you, AVG was highly recommended.
my firewall is, I think, the Windows one .It came installed with the computer.
When they are all systems go computers are a dream but, when things hiccup Sad
