Hi Gilly, welcome to our forums and thankyou for joining.
Out of curiosity, how many of you were there?

I was at Heathcote Rd hostel 1960-61, but I remember going to Bradfield Park to visit a friend of my dad's from our home town in Nottinghamshire, who'd migrated shortly after us. Not sure how long they stayed there, but the family name was Hall (dad's name Frank), and they had 2 sons.

I remember thinking at the time what a great place it was compared to Heathcote Rd: in the middle of the leafy northern suburbs, not far from Lindfield and Chatswood, and a pleasant stroll to the Lane Cove River (sounds like a real estate advert).

All the best
Chris
