My name is Geraldine Dolan. I was 8 years old when my family arrived in Australia from Scotland in November 1967. We stayed at Broughton Hostel in Burwood from Nov 67 to Jan 69.

Welcome to the forum. Do you remember whereabouts in Burwood the hostel was located? I was in Heathcote Rd 1960-61.

Hi Chris...Broughton Hostel was at 22 Church St Burwood. It is now a community centre owned by Burwood Council.

Thanks Geraldine. I was curious because I know the area a bit, and had often wondered where the hostel was. At one time I worked for a firm with offices in Burwood, I was based in the city, but often went out to Burwood. I'd always thought there had been was a hostel there, but was starting to think it was a figment of my imagination until you joined the forum! I gather you're still living there? You must have seen a few changes.
