Quote: | Ive just been given a photo of the Florida Milk Bar. It was quite famous to migrants, as it was at the corner of the shops in East Hills and was frequented by East Hill Hostel residents, after alighting from the train. The train used to terminate at East Hills. The milk bar and indeed the whole main street that the shops were on is completely demolished, as they were bulldozed due to the extension of the railway. Im sure that this photo will bring back many memories, especially to migrant kids at EHH.

Quote: | Chapel Nissan on left, boiler room to the right of Chapel, Nursery to
the right of this, Nissens Number 81, next right, Recreation Hall
extreme right. The swingpark was directly behind the nursery. The
soccer field directly behind all of these buildings.

Quote: | A view of the Paterson family, taken from the soccer field, looking
toward the central roundabout. The boilier room on the rhs (note the
stack), the nursery to the left (behind the knee of the piggy back
rider). Barely discernable is the swingpark, this side of the nursery.
Rec room to the left in the distance. Nissens to the extreme right.

Quote: | The Nursery Nissan at EHH, Rec Hall to the left. More swings behind
the shoulder of the girl holding the dolly.

Quote: | The car park is where the old Nissan Nursery used to be. Clearly seen
is the old swingpark still in position. Nissans have been replaced by
brick flats. The Rec Hall would have been just to the extreme right of
the pic (a few more metres to the right of the photo.

Quote: | Another photo of the old swingpark, still in place. Amazingly, the
monkee puzzle is still in place, to the left, rear of the picture. In
April 2009, I found portions of the swing sets frame still on the site
of the old EHH!
