These are great- I recognised the last one immediately- it's my local beach, Eastern Beach in Geelong. Razz

Anyone up for a barbie there in the summer? We could sneak one in before the reunion, and come back to my place for a cuppa after.

You still up for the barbie and cuppa Judith? The weather is getting warmer now. Look forward to it in the new year.

DID ANYBODY ELSE LIVE THERE IN 1952 OR WAS IT A DREAM. I ARRIVED 6/3/52 VIA BONEGILLA AND EX SS NEW AUSTRALIA (GOD BLESS ALL WHO SAILED IN HER) MUM IN TEARS THE FIRST NIGHT WE SAW THOSE HUTS. JUST BEDROOMS ALONG ONE SIDE OF HUT - NO LOUNGE/DINING, NO ACCESS TO CHILDRENS BEDROOMS OTHER GOING OUT IN THE RAIN TO DOOR 2 OR 3 ROOMS ALONG (FIXED BY CUTTING OPENINGS). NO PATHS UNTIL MEN AND SONS PULLED UP PAVERS TO CREATE SAME. DINING IN DINING ROOM UNDER GRANDSTAND. TOILET/SHOWER BLOCK OVER BY KORIOT CREEK(DONT ASK). BARBERS SHOP IN OLD TOTE BUILDING. I WENT TO WILLIAMSTOWN STATE SCHOOL. GRADE 4 (MECHANICS INSTITUTE) FOR 1 DAY. GRADE 5 BOYS 2/3MONTHS AND FINISHED THE YEAR WITH PETER COVENTRY IN GRADE 6 GIRLS. DO WE REGRET ANY OF THIS? NOT ON YOUR LIFE. THIS PROVIDED A WONDERFUL LIFE FOR ME. MY 5 CHILDREN AND NOW 18 GRANDCHILDREN. DENIS ALLEN 0419131489

Sounds bloody awful, in the 60's we at least had a dining room nearby but same sleeping accommodation. Are you coming to our reunion?

Hello Dennis, I believe you had a lengthy conversation with my son David a few weeks ago. He phoned me about the article you put in the paper and was very interested.
I did send an e-mail regarding this.

A family named Rimmers came to Australia in 1951 to Williamstown.

Hope you enjoy the site...

Regards Olwen..
