I'm not sure but I think that there was a time limit on the amount of time that each family could stay at the hostel, before they had to move-on and find other accommodation. At Unanderra hostel the limit was 2years.
Our family managed to stay at the Hostel for nearly two and a half years.

At the end of our term in 1970 we moved to Lake Heights, which is located between Warrawong and Berkeley and right bedside Lake Illawarra. We had moved about 2-3 miles away from the Hostel.
We stayed at Lake Height up until October1973, before our family 'for what ever reason' came back to the UK.
I was nearly 16 years of age at this time.

Len do you remember the German family who were on the hostel for donkeys years - they had been there for 12 years when we goth there in 1967 - think they were called Marler of Marlor
