Who remembers.......The Wilsons, Gail, Alan etc. The Slatterys, Susan etc. The Millers, Jean, Drew, Jim. The Slees - big German family, The Watsons, Ruth etc. (Irish). The Mitchells (our next doors) big bad boy family, one tried to drown me over at the back beach. The Davies', Pamela etc. (These are all kids names). Oh and Geddes, Anne Geddes - I always wonder if she is the famous one who does the baby calendars.

We went to school with the Slees, they were Dutch. They lived in Galvin Street, Altona. Adrian married a girl from my class at St. Joseph's, they moved out Macedon way and kept horses. Our Colette runs into Kitty Slee in Hopper's Crossing now and then.
Janet do you remember your unit number, or where those other families lived? We're compiling a giant map. I remember the Watsons, they fronted onto the creek.

I don't know the number but could pick it out on a map, we actually had two different ones as we were all getting moved around as they knocked down walls and made them all bigger.
Re: the Slees, I still see Fere (Fear?) around Altona, she always stops for a chat. I remember how the eldest girl Bep or Bet had a motorbike accident at the crossing at Mobiltown and was disabled for years, tragic.
I ran into Susan Slattery when her son was in Year 12 with my son.
And Gail Wilson taught me to drive when I first got my license.

Gail Wilson, that is the one I couldnt remember the name of,who used to where sun glasses all the time,I think she had hay fever, but I used to be scared of her cause she threatened to bash me up a couple of times ( I dont know what for ) but any way I always tols her that our Linda would get her if she touched me,and that used to do the trick!!

Not out of Altona, you can take the girl out of Altona but you can take Altina out of the girl. To borrow a phrase from Csrolyne

I lived in 64 Brook Drive, left in 1972. The reason I asked is I used to see a kid who looked a lot like your brother in Brook Drive, but I thought he came from one of the side streets.
