Had a surprise phone call from Mrs. Lewis! She saw our ad in the Leader- but the starting time was given as 1.00am.
We had a great yarn for about 20 minutes. She worked in the hostel office for 17 years, and is now 87. She still lives in Altona and is coming on Saturday. I told her she'll be in great demand.
I'm going to bring one of those little dictation machines, and we can interview people for our archives.
Can anyone print out some photos from this forum of the staff? Maybe Mrs. L. could ID them for us. |

Yep, I can do that. They will just be on ordinary paper as I will do it at my son's house due to the fact I can't get on the bloody internet at home.
Doing it now. _________________ Resident of Altona Hostel, 1963-1965 |
