Hi All I have been in touch with the Rifle Club and spoke with assistant manager who seems to think it should not be a problem but the manager is away till next Wednesday when I can 100% know for sure if we can take the place over. Apparently from what I was told the dining room seats 25 at a time, but that should not be a problem as we could eat in shifts if we had to. No word on the Bus as yet as my manager is interstate not due back till Monday. I pretty sure I can get it though. Ok nano nano for now and I will be back with more updates etc. Cheers Andy _________________ Andy Logan Altona Hostel 63/67 |

Hi All
So it is a goer, the Rifle club in Willy it is..see you all there at 11.00
Oh and by the way,as Andy has had no response from any body re the bus ,we take it then that every body is ok as far as transport is concerned and so it will not be needed, and it is too late now to organize it, but thanks Andy for the thought it was a good one ,and hopefully we will have need of it at another time when we all get together again, next time though we will make it for the warmer weather then we can have a really good BBQ,I enjoyed the last one,I always enjoy it when men do the cooking..just does my heart good to see them doing something _________________ Carol Myers Altona Hostel Dec 1962 - June 1964 |

Well what a great day we had, just sitting in the pub around a huge makeshift table, all chatting and talking about old times,it was fantastic, friendships born from adversity but lasting a lifetime.Every body was so relaxed and comfortable with each other _________________ Carol Myers Altona Hostel Dec 1962 - June 1964 |

Wasn't it great, there were 20 of us, in addition to those who turned up last year there was Danny McKeeman, Kitty Slee and Philip Marsh. Our little core group is expanding just by word of mouth and family connections. Many thanks to Pat Heaney and Nora Griffin who came down specially from Queensland, despite everything being agin them with the airlines. I was also glad my Bruce and Angela came along, now he knows who I've been waffling on about all these years. They were both born around the corner in Williamstown Hospital, his Dad was born in Queen Street and there are two more generations buried in Willy Cemetery- so a day out at the Rifle Club was a good excuse to go back. Bruce and I both went to St.Mary's but didn't know each other.
BTW after you guys left, DIDN'T COLLINGWOOD WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yes it was great Judith, hope for more next time, wasnt it a coincidence my freiend Shona Pollock was there purely by accident and I had just been talking about her the day before with another old friend from Altona and said I wish I knew where she was and what she was doing. I couldnt believe it. Also seeing Philip again after all these years was great, nice to touch base now and again with all the old foke. _________________ If its to be its up to me |
