Hi All
This is my first post. My parents emigrated from UK on the Strathaird in 1959. We first settled at a hostel at Innala in Brisbane I think although I have no memory of this. We moved to Bradfield Park in 1961 after my parents lost their home in Ingleburn.
I think when we were there the camp was split in two. What we called the pommy side was the old Nissan huts and behind a fence. It had a canteen and was really quite seperate from the other side which contained a general mix of people who were in similar situations to ours. This was the place where you waited to be assigned a housing commission place. The camp was made of 3 roomed square canite board attached dwellings. Does anyone remember the two camps. I have never been able to find any photos of the camps and library, school etc.
