Funny to find this site. Bringing back some childhood memories. We sailed to Australia on the Castel Felice in 1967 arriving late feb I think. We wondered where on earth we were going when they loaded us on the bus and drove for ever through the bush to East Hills Hostel.
We had seen a lot of films on the ship showing us 'life' in Australia and when we were shown out place to call home for the next 12 moths they thought I was crazy when I found a funnel web spider on the building .
I must say as an 11 year old it was all an adventure from the jumble sales, the creek, Hammondville PS with nasty Mr Palmer.
WE still have friends from way back then it was a bonding time.
I remember a young boy my age giving me my first kiss - Anthony Hobbs - it was down on the swings. So nice and so innocent. _________________ Barbara |

Hi Barbara
This is Anthony Hobbs mother though we called him Anthony his real name is Charles(Charlie) If you would like to see what he is doing now go to www.mtcook.com You have written such a sweet post and I hope you write more memories. Do you remember his twin, Allan? He was the charmer Charlie being a little more reserved.
Lovely to meet you _________________ Kind regards,
