Does anyone know how to access the back beach? I tried to find it again once or twice, but things have changed so much around there in the past 40-50 years. For starters, the bridge is gone, and I had hoped there might be some access by road, without having to walk through a certain snake-pit. If it's not totally isolated, it might be fun to have a outing there in the summer. |

Hello again gang, is*nt it a small world, I*ve twice been to the back beach in the last twelve months. The way to go is travel along the Esplanade towards Seaholme continue on, past the Sportsmans Bar (which was the Altona Working mens Club) when you get to the "Pines Scout Camp Hall, make a right hand turn. Park your car (because the track has been barricaded) then all you need do is walk along the seaside of the track which is well away from any snakes that could be lurking. I hope this helps. Hooray, thanks for that. I'll go have a look next time I'm in Altona, and do a reconnaissance mission. It would be great if we had a picnic there when things warm up a bit. |
