I have just spent the past few days sourcing the 1963 Electoral Roll of Altona. I didn't expect to find anyone with a hostel address, but there are a few from Altona and Brooklyn. Then I found a shorter "supplemental" roll with all the late additions, and there are LOADS of people we know. The roll goes all the way up to parts of Newport and Kingsville, as well as North Altona and Brooklyn. Eventually I'll post a list of all the inmates of both hostels. I'll squeeze in what I can with the memoirs etc. over the next three weeks till I go away, but a few big jobs have just come in so I might be scratching. But it's a very interesting read, I recognise so many old neighbours and schoolmates, and there were so many streets that didn't exist in 1963. |

No, not for 1963. But I'm working my way down the 100+ pages and marking off the Altona and Brooklyn Hostel folk, and have found many familiar names already. |

You will have to send me a list sometime, it would be great to see how many I remember. _________________ Resident of Altona Hostel, 1963-1965 |

The Myers' and McKeeman's would have been there at that time too. Keep up the good work Judith. Also look for McLean, Reginio, Mackey (or Mackie). Don't think the Eaton's would have arrived by that time, I think they were later. Logan's I think were there then, Dennerley's, Livesay's, John Mills (Skip). _________________ Resident of Altona Hostel, 1963-1965 |

Couldn't find it, for some reason half the A and B surnames didn't print properly. |
