Hi Len ,
Sending you a photo of Christmas party at Wallgrove Hostel in 1958. There was always a Christmas party at each hostel and each child was given a gift. I am not sure whether a committee of residents put the parties on or whether it was run by the hostel itself. Maybe someone else remembers? They were always fun for the children and in the photo my son Murray aged four years receives his gift from Father Christmas ,while my husband Tony looks on.
I wonder if anyone who lived in Wallgrove Hostel back in those days ever reads this forum. Would love to hear any of their stories.
It was a little out in the whip whops but I enjoyed my stay there.

Hi Sandra,
Great to read your post.I remember Fisherman's Bend but we were never there. All hostels had Christmas parties with gifts for the children .I know our kids enjoyed them too as they got a wee bit older but not so much when they were toddlers.. So I'm so glad you enjoyed the parties and hope your gift was super.

Chris ,that's great you were there at that time and remember all the faces.
I remember the chef there had a little boy ,about one year old and he died .We were so upset. After we left Wallgrove they had a wee baby girl and they sent a photo of her to us.I wonder where they are now.
Also at Wallgrove my beautiful cat Mushka was run over. It took us ages to find him He used to play with our dog Kelpie.I sure missed him .There is a photo of him in the Balgownie/Fairymeadow forum under Kelpie.
Chris I hope you post some of your memories of Wallgrove as not many folk who were there have posted. _________________ Kind regards,
