Hello
The Eaton family Marjorie (Mum), Ernest (Dad), Linda (me), Gillian and Annette arrived at Altona Hostel in February 1964 and moved into our new home in Melton on the last day of school in 1966.
My brother Glen was born in 1968. Gillian sadly passed away in 1989, Mum in 1996 and Dad in 1997.
I am afraid I dont remember a lot. I do remember Sue Gillett and being great friends despite the fight we had in the ironing room. I seem to recall that I got dragged out by my mum who hit me for swearing and then let Sue continue to thump me. (I was pretty scared of her but glad we were friend and so looking forward to catching up).
The other person I mainly remember is Ailsa Kay. I remember being broken hearted the night she left to live in Lower Plenty. Is onyone in touch with her. I have been reading a lot what the rest of you from Altona have written and some names are familiar and a couple of photos. I will have to look through all the old photos I have here and see what I can find.
I went to Seaholme State School the first year and then to Altona High for the other two years. |
