Hi,
My family first came to Australia in 1967 on the MV Fairsea, we stayed at the Scarborough beach hotel for a couple of nights and then moved into Graylands Hostel. I can still remember some things about the place, was there a sunken garden of some sort?. We only stayed there a few weeks so we only ever stayed in a brick flat, not the corrugated ones, I believe they were hot. We moved to Safety Bay for a while and then Mosman Park. Like a lot of people my Mother was homesick and we returned to the UK after 2 years. The story doesn't end there as we came back quite a few times over the years. I'm glad to say I am settled here in Australia and can't imagine living any where else.
Cheers David |
